A fast-moving wildfire is forcing more than 20-thousand people to flee in the B-C interior. It is just one of more than 100 fires burning in the province, almost half are out-of-control. Officials have now declared a province-wide state of emergency. Also: Spain has imposed temporary border checks on travellers arriving from Italy. The move is a reprisal against similar Italian restrictions on Spanish travellers. Italy is critical of what it views as Spain's soft approach to immigration, and its handling of a border rush on the Spanish territory Ceuta. And: Next month, German voters will go to the polls in the state of Saxony-Anhalt. The election is being watched closely because the far-right, anti-immigrant party Alternative for Germany appears poised to win. Protesters in Berlin took to the streets Saturday, calling on Germany's top court to ban the party. Plus: The political fight over the Smithsonian, pulling pets from the rubble in Venezuela, and Sena Catterall joins the PWHL, and more.
