For a long time, WDR 4 was a pure Schlager radio station, playing exclusively Schlager and German entertainment music from all genres – from oldie Schlagers to modern Schlagers, party hits, and even folk music. After 6 PM, classical music, such as operettas, could also be heard. Since March 2011, WDR 4 has been evolving from a Schlager radio station to an oldies radio station. The share of international tracks is now at 85%.
